Project description

For their operations on the water, the Freiburg police have a new police boat with modern technology at their disposal. "We can now act faster, as well as more precisely, day and night," the lake police say. The vessel is equipped with a Swissradar system, a joystick control system, a hydraulically lowerable working platform, side bulwarks for diving operations, a mobile fire pump and much more. Propulsion is provided by two modern, 380 hp Volvo Penta D6-380D engines with electronic control and IPS drives S500 with forward-mounted, counter-rotating propellers. Equipped in this way, the ship is not only fast, but also very economical.

Shiptec AG used the contract for the realisation of the completely new police boat type "Shiptec Professional 13", which was developed in-house. This boat is made of marine-quality aluminium alloy and was developed, designed and built in Lucerne - tailored to the specific needs of the Fribourg police.

The boat is used for patrols, search operations, evacuations of persons and for salvages of stranded, stuck and capsized vessels. With the new police boat, the maritime police can carry out their tasks even better.
