The Schifffahrt Grundlsee Toplitzsee shipping company (Steiermark, Austria) decided to completely renovate their two larger passenger ships.

Apart from the hull, the MS Rudolf was almost completely rebuilt. In doing so, the ship was equipped with the latest technology. This included the installation of a diesel-electric propulsion  system. The existing wooden structures on the MS Traun were renovated and refreshed. All of the interiors were completely renovated to match the ambience of the Grundlsee. The MS Traun was also equipped with a new diesel-electric propulsion system and the latest technology.

The work was completed before Easter in April 2017, and the motor vessels were then transported back to Grundlsee. This meant that both ships were able to be put back into scheduled operation for the season opening at the end of April.

The four-month, highly intensive renovation work was completed thanks to the excellent collaboration with the customer.

Goals

Widening and installation of floats to improve stability and the authentic renovation of the interiors. The propulsion system was changed over to diesel-electric and there was a beautiful and the interior was beautifully and authentically renovated.
